European Union | Funding Opportunities: Erasmus+

On 18 December, the European Commission launched new Erasmus+ calls for Cooperation Partnerships in the field of sport, with a strong focus on projects promoting physical activity, movement, and sport participation.

Cooperation Partnerships in the field of sport - Sport 2026 (ERASMUS-SPORT-2026)

These projects aim to increase participation in sport and physical activity as a tool for health and wellbeing. This call offers opportunities for physiotherapy organisations to lead or join initiatives that advance active lifestyles, prevention, rehabilitation in the community, and inclusive sport participation, among other possible themes.


Examples of possible focus areas may include, but are not limited to:

  • Encouraging healthy lifestyles for all

  • Promoting education in and through sport

Funding and Application Details

Consortium requirement: Applications must be submitted by a consortium of minimum three organisations from three different:

  • EU Member States, or

  • Third countries associated to Erasmus+: Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein; North Macedonia, Türkiye, Serbia


Additional partners from non-associated third countries may participate (partner role only and with justification), including:

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro; Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine (as recognised internationally); Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia.

Budget & Duration

  • Funding levels: €120,000, €250,000 or €400,000

  • Project duration: 12–36 months, depending on activities


Deadline for submission: before 5 March 2026, 17:00 CET (Brussels time)
